About my fee:

Doulas in the Tri-State area charge a wide range for their services.  Each doula sets their fee based on certain criteria such as:

1.  Certified or Not Certified?   Many doulas have completed a formal doula training but not all are certified.  I was a certified birth doula for 8 years. I  am a DONA (Doulas of North America) re-trained birth doula and hope to recertify once this pandemic is over. I adhere to to a strict code of conduct and specific ethical guidelines set in place by DONA.

2.  How many years have you been working as a doula?  I have been working as a doula since 2009. Student doulas often charge no fee or a nominal fee while more experienced doulas tend to charge a higher fee.  The doula fees in NY typically range from 800-1800 or more.

3.  Continuing Education Credits and Re-certification:  DONA and Lamaze require re--certification every 3 years.  I can either sit for an exam or attend accredited courses which allow me to gain knowledge and bring updated information regarding pregnancy and childbirth to my clients.  These courses have fees and I use my income towards these classes.

4.   My doula tool bag:  I bring lots of STUFF to births!  Oils, massage tools, etc...  I am always on the lookout for new and exciting things to help a mama in labor.  I use my fee to bring tools to a birth that will help you!

5. On call time: I am typically on call for my clients starting at 37 weeks.  This means I need to remain within a one hour drive of your home at all times. My cell phone is on and on me at all times day and night and I am prepared to be with you at any moment.
